SANCHEZ THE NEW HENRY

Alexis Sanchez has had a fantastic start to his Arsenal career. The Chilean international entered into double figures for the season after managing to get a goal in the 3-3 draw with Anderlecht on Tuesday night. This has led to comparisons with legend Thierry Henry.

The former French international is regarded as one of the greatest players to have represented Arsenal. He scored more than 170 goals during his time at Arsenal. Sanchez is one of the latest big-money signings for the club. He has started his Arsenal career in a positive manner just as Mesut Ozil, who arrived to £ 42.5 million.

The 25-year-old has a long way to go before being classified in the same league as Henry. The forward continues to be a great foil for Danny Welbeck, who has been unable to get goals on a consistent basis. Midfielder Mathieu Flamini has accepted that Sanchez is nowhere near enough to be compared with Henry because he has been at Arsenal only for the last few months. It was not long ago that several players like Theo Walcott were being compared with Henry. The club are still searching for a replacement. Henry is currently with the New York Red Bulls after having joined them a few years ago.

"Alexis is a top quality player and is proving that in every game he plays with us, but he only arrived a couple of months ago. Alexis and Thierry don't play in the same role either, so I would never compare Alexis with another legend in this club. I didn't make any comparison. Alexis is a top player, but we must remember Thierry is a legend at this club. He played for Arsenal for many seasons and he did so much for this club, he won so much for this club, so you can't make this comparison, especially not today,” said Flamini.
